Previous editions: Jean-Marie-Lucien Dejeanne, Poésies complètes du troubadour Marcabru, Toulouse 1909, p. 134 (XXIX); William D. Paden, The Medieval Pastourelle, New York 1987, I, p. 40; Simon Gaunt, Ruth Harvey and Linda Paterson, Marcabru: A Critical Edition, Cambridge, D. S. Brewer, 2000, p. 369.
Versification: 8a 8a 8a 8b 8a 8b (Frank 55:2), five coblas doblas. The stanza following stanza III is missing in all MSS and the abrupt ending suggests that the song as transmitted may be incomplete in this respect too. Following Hans Spanke (Marcabrustudien, Göttingen 1940, p. 21), who saw Marcabru’s poem as a contrafactum of Ecce letantur omnia, Ismael Fernández de la Cuesta (Las cançons dels trobadors, Toulouse 1979, p. 59) prints the music of the latter for this song.
