Verification: a4’ b6 a4’ b6 a4’ b6 b4 a6’ c4 (Frank 266), ten nine-line stanzas and one tornada of three lines, coblas doblas, unicum; alternatively Frank 82a, note: a10 a10 a10 b10 c4, though see Ricketts’s arguments against this (‘Lo vers’, p. 7). Frank wrongly gives the ‘c’ rhyme as ‘-or’. Hans Spanke (Marcabrustudien, Göttingen, 1940, p. 17) suggests the melody may be retrievable from an anonymous trouvère song whose versification closely resembles that of Marcabru.
