Stanzas XI-XIII are generally taken to refer to the expedition mounted in the early months of 1130 by Guilhem X to support his rebel kinsman, Thibaut de Blaizon, besieged in the castle of Mirebeau by his overlord Geoffrey of Anjou. Since Guilhem became the ally of Geoffrey in the campaign in Normandy in the autumn of 1136, this would appear to be the terminus ante quem.
